The Hopewell Downtown Partnership is excited to announce Hopewell’s first-ever Community Paddle Day event at City Park with RVA Paddlesports, Beyond Boundaries, Boys to Men Mentoring, Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) and Hopewell Recreation Parks. This is an opportunity for you to experience one of the biggest sources of fun that our city has to offer – water recreation. Our outdoor rec experts will offer a variety of free paddling experiences appropriate for all ages and skill levels, to increase diversity in the sport, and to promote inclusivity in the paddlesports community here in Hopewell.

Join us on Saturday, May 6th at Hopewell City Park to learn about paddlesports and the Appomattox River. We will have kayaks, SUPS, & rafts for people to try out as well as a food truck, vendors and music. The ART on the Appomattox River Trail (ART) project will also be celebrating the installation of a new Sturgeon Sculpture at City Park.
