The Hopewell Downtown Partnership is working to fulfill its mission by creating vibrant events within the downtown district. The purpose of these events are to serve as place for the community to come together, in turn generating traffic for our downtown businesses. These events bring over 10,000 people to the downtown district every year! Our events have become a tradition within the community and are highly anticipated each year. We invite you to join the fun! State of the Downtown Address

A networking event complete with a presentation, and question and answer period from the Hopewell Downtown Partnership. The inaugural State of the Downtown Address was held in 2017.

Open Air Marketplace

What: Monthly farmer’s market festival
When: Third Thursday of each month, May-October

Introduced in 2017, our monthly “Farmer’s Market Festival,” featuring over 30 vendors, children’s activities, food trucks, live music and local beer & wine. These events encompass the buy local movement offering a gathering place for people to celebrate our community.

Butts to Broadway

Pork Butt Competition

What: Pork Butt Competition and Festival
When: June
Where: E Broadway Avenue

Get your Butts to Broadway was started in 2014 as an amateur pork butt cooking competition. 2018 will mark the fifth anniversary of this annual Hopewell tradition where amateur BBQ competitors come together to “cook it out.” Prizes are awarded for People’s Choice, Grand Champion, Best Pulled Pork and Best Ribs. This event is highly anticipated each year by the community!

Harvest Festival

Fall Farmer’s Market Festival

When: Saturday before Thanksgiving
Where: E Broadway Avenue

An extension, or “Grand Finale” of our Third Thursday Open Air Marketplaces. This event features vendors, live music, food trucks, children’s activities, and local beer and wine. This event is held on the same day as the Hopewell Kiwanis Annual Wine Tasting, so these two events historically attract large audiences.

Light Up the Night

Holiday Celebration

When: First Sunday in December
Where: Downtown Hopewell
Attendance: 1000+

In conjunction with Hopewell Recreation and Parks, and the Hopewell Public School System, Light Up the Night is Hopewell’s biggest holiday celebration. This event features the Hopewell Holiday parade, the Hopewell Tree lighting, concerts from local school chorus groups, vendors, horse and carriage rides, a petting zoo, and other family friendly activities. This event really kicks off the holiday season in downtown Hopewell!
