Facade Design Assistance

Hopewell’s downtown currently suffers from some significant problems: high vacancy rates, deteriorating buildings, and negative perceptions to name a few. To attract new businesses, we first need buildings suitable to our business owners’ demands.  The HDP has worked to provide free architectural design assistance to property owners in order to rehab building appearances.

Many property owners have already taken advantage of this service and are putting it to use with a matching grants to make their buildings come to life again.  Some have been completed and many are underway!

Incentives

The HDP has been actively in contact with property owners offering and facilitating incentives such as historic tax credits, enterprise zone grants, technical assistance, and more to make significant rehab of structures both financially feasible and easy.

Consider that a property owner taking advantage of all incentives could potentially receive back up to 75% of rehab costs!
